Many states require a certain number of hands on hours of training and a set amount of procedures to have been completed before granting a phlebotomist their certificate. Even if a particular state has no such requirements, however, it is good practice to voluntarily enroll in this type of real life training so that students are comfortable with performing procedures after completion of the course.
Phlebotomy certification training typically costs between $1,500 and $3,500, depending on the chosen courses, length of study, and training facility. Most phlebotomy schools will allow this fee to be paid in installments, although certification may be withheld until the final payment is made.
